Wrigley Coffee Mural
Shortly after moving into the Wrigley Neighborhood of Long Beach I heard rumors of a new coffee shop opening a few blocks from my house with a mission to hire individuals experiencing housing insecurity. I reached out to the man making it happen, Andrew Nishimoto of Family Promise of the South Bay, and asked how I could help. After meeting with Andrew and interior designer Heather KW Styles in the soon-to-be coffee shop I proposed an in-kind mural with a play on the oft used “but first, coffee” phrase. The “but first, community” mural feels right at home with Heather’s skillful interior design job, and speaks truth to the power of Wrigley Coffee’s mission. You can learn more about their work by watching this short documentary.
